A busy urban street scene features a large basketball in the foreground with a sports team logo. Behind the ball, a wall mural depicts several basketball players in red jerseys. The street is lined with shops, including one with a distinct orange facade and green trim. Overhead, multiple trolley cables crisscross the sky. About Us

Pinoy Basketball Qatar (PIBAQ) was established on 17 November 2005 and has been actively promoting basketball within the Filipino community in Qatar for nearly two decades. On 15 June 2011, PIBAQ was officially recognized as an active voting member of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), the national governing body for basketball in the Philippines. Since its founding, the organization has been committed to organizing basketball tournaments for players of all ages and skill levels.

PIBAQ also focuses on youth development through its Junior Falcons Program, which aims to train and develop the fundamental basketball skills of young Filipino athletes in Qatar, preparing them for future competitive play.

The organization is also the founder of the All-Filipino GCC Basketball Championship, a regional tournament that brings together Filipino teams from across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The tournament will hold its 8th edition in 2026, to be hosted in the United Arab Emirates in partnership with Jazzville Sports LLC as co-organizer.

In addition, PIBAQ develops and organizes Referees Academy and Coaches Academy programs for Filipinos in the community. These initiatives include licensing and refresher courses for game officials, providing them with additional knowledge, professional development, and livelihood opportunities that remain valuable even when they return to the Philippines.

PIBAQ works closely with the Qatar Basketball Federation in supporting basketball initiatives within the community. It also cooperates with the Embassy of the Philippines in Qatar at an advisory level, contributing to the overall development of sports and community engagement among Filipinos in Qatar.
